my new issues of representation project is called Utopia, i have interpreted this into my own utopia which is within the play a midsummer nights dream, my idea of utopia is love conquering over all and in this play the fairy king and queen govern over the lovers to torment and play with them and to sort out the correct lovers, in a lot of ways i see myself as the character Helena who chases her love demetrius and is angered by his love for Hermia, in the end Helena gets what she wanted all along, i feel like helena in my search for love and i would wish to have her ending but as this is a utopia it does therefore not exist, as is the nature of this magical unreal force of love i have decided to re-create Titania and Oberon's costumes, in the play they are godlike beings that have rule over love but are not in reality as utopia is not, i have made the two costumes to fit with an elizabethan style of the shakespean time, they are made from tissue paper screen printed with relevant text from the play, at the end of the project these pieces will feature in an exhibition where they will take place in a performance made by me as i shall suspend them above me and rip them shred by shred giving out pieces to the audience until the costume and the words have been distributed and Oberon and Titania have disappeared as by magic.

my art work at the moment is about thoughts and feelings left behind contained within walls of a bedroom, every day i paint and write on these walls to release my bottled up emotions at the end of the day i white over the painting leaving only the parts that are particularly important to me, this whiting out acts as a cleansing ready for the next days change of mood.
I am also working on two other projects at the moment and i am just about to put some images of my automatic drawings on which have evolved from a project called utopia.
I am working on costume designs and making for 'a midsummer nights dream' and i hope to post up some images soon when we get the budget for making.
